Corruption in India can be traced back to the country's colonial past. Yet corruption remains rife in India's political landscape.
Political corruption is the use of powers by government officials for illegitimate. In Bihar, India, more than 80% of the subsidized food aid to poor is stolen by corrupt people.
AIACO is an organization, which is working to eradicate corruption for society, the state, and the country. Information about admissions was obtained by our organization by applying RTI against all private schools in 2014. When we studied the information given by him, we found a lot of use of corruption in it. We wrote the information given by him in an excel seat and sent it to the Lieutenant Governor. He was asked to set up a committee and inquire into the matter. After the information given by us, the provision of admission came in all private schools by drawing them in front of government officials. This was a big achievement for us.
An RTI was filed by our organization against private hospitals. In which we asked for information about information of delivery of women. How many children are normal and how many children are from the operation, this information was sought. Whenever you go to the hospital, the doctor deliberately postpones the delivery of the child till the evening and in the evening will say immediately that the child has putty, we will have to do an operation. People have no other option and they agree. This incident is made deliberately because less money is available in normal delivery and more money is received after the operation. After applying our RTI, we got calls from big officials asking us to go there and collect information, as they cannot give a written answer.
When our organization members investigated the Mahatma Gandhi Institute for Combating Climate Change Office under the Environment Department of Delhi Government with the hidden camera, it was found that the government was wasting money there. There all the employees roam around while completing their household tasks by keeping their attendance. The senior officers there also use the goods, vehicles, and employees there for their work. When we informed about all this action to the government department, an employee working in this office threatened us. So we complained about this at the local police station.
Action was taken against Saroj Hospital Rohini by our organization for not treating the retired employee subordinate to the Central Government under the CGHS panel. The hospital first admitted him under the rules of CGHS, but then told him that after depositing the money, then the treatment would take place. Then he got treatment in another hospital immediately. But we took action against that hospital and got him fined so that they should not behave like this with any other patient.
Through our organization, the Prime Minister, Home Minister, and senior officers of Delhi Police were provided information from time to time regarding corruption in Delhi Traffic Police. We also told them about the various ways of taking bribes by them. Departmental action and investigation were also done on some officers.
The information about the work of recovery of money from the residents was taken by the employee of the Purvanchal Department of the Electricity Department of Uttar Pradesh to the Ministry of Energy there. The action was taken against him by making available the money earned by him from corruption, information about bank accounts, information about houses and expensive vehicles to the ministry.

The punishments imposed on the criminals are inadequate. The political leaders have spoiled the society completely. They lead a luxurious life and do not even care about the society.
People of India are not awakened and enlightened. They fear to raise their voice against anti-social elements prevailing in the society.
The political costs of corruption are manifested in weakened public trust in political institutions, reduced political participation, perversion of the electoral process, restricted political choices available to citizens and loss of legitimacy of the democratic institution and democracy itself
Corruption reduces economic efficiency by misallocation of resources in favour of rent-seeking activities, increasing the cost of public transactions, acting as an additional tax on business thereby reducing foreign direct investment, reducing genuine business competition.
The effect of corruption on the social fabric of society is perhaps the most alarming damage of all. It undermines people's trust in the political system, its institutions and leadership. Corruption distorts the value systems and wrongly attaches elevated status to occupations that have rent - seeking opportunities. This results in a disillusioned public, a weak civil society, which attracts unscrupulous leaders to political life. Eventually, there is a risk that demanding and paying bribes could become the norm
Environmental degradation is an indirect but serious consequence of corrupt systems. Environmentally devastating projects are given preference in funding, because they are easy targets for siphoning off public money into private pockets.
Corruption within security agencies can lead to a threat to national security, through distortion of procurement, recruitment of incompetent persons, providing an easy route for smuggling of weapons and terrorist elements into the country and money laundering.
